Do eyelash extensions ruin your natural lashes?

The biggest myth is that lash extensions ruin your own lashes. They do not. When they are applied correctly and properly, they are safe and do not ruin the health of your natural lashes. Be sure not to rub your eyes or tug or pull on the extensions because this can cause lash loss. At Coco Leigh Hair Boutique we use the best quality lashes and glue for the safety and health of our clients.

How long do eyelash extensions last?

Lash extensions last through a full growth cycle of natural eyelashes, typically 3-4 weeks. That said, because each person’s lash growth is somewhat variable (just hair growth), we suggest lash maintenance every two to four weeks to maintain a full look.

Can you go swimming with eyelash extension?

We recommend that you wait a full 24-48 hours before getting your new set of lashes wet, especially if you want to swim in the ocean. It takes at least 4-6 hours for the bonding agent to seal and we recommend avoiding heavy water contact on your lashes during that period.

How do you shower with eyelash extensions?

Some people might want to avoid showering for a day or so unless it is necessary. After the first few days, people can get their eyelashes wet without worry. Using micellar water lash wash on them and rinsing them is a good idea. High water pressure, heat, and steam is more likely to damage the adhesive than the moisture and water itself.

Do eyelash extensions hurt?

Eyelash extensions do not hurt, if safely applied and properly cared for and maintained.  Each individual lash is intricately placed one at a time on top of your natural lashes, so essentially the application is flawless. Many people actually fall asleep when receiving eyelash extensions because the eyes are closed during the service. If you experience any discomfort you should tell your lash artist and she will make sure you are happy with your service.

Can you put mascara on eyelash extensions?

In general it is not advisable to use mascara with your eyelash extensions. In other words, they’re made to look like you’ve already used mascara at all times. One of the biggest benefits of eyelash extensions is that you’d never have to apply mascara while you have them. Often times our clients tell us that it makes running errands so easy they just get up and go without even having to put any makeup on!
